What shops are open?
What shops are open?

Hi All
After all this covid nonsense I am finally going to be able to visit our home in Quesada and no doubt will have a major cleaning job to do.
But my question is, are there any shops where I can buy food at this time of year on a Sunday. Simply cant remember after 3 years
TIA
Geoff

All the bigger supermarkets are closed.
There’s a 24/7 shop on the Av de Naccionales and some of the smaller shops such as Johnson’s are open for a few hours. As well as petrol stations.
If you’re here early enough both Zoco & Lemon Tree Markets run on a Sunday.

Canales which has a wide range including fresh meat and veg is open. On the calle Costa azul towards harrys bar and just before the little enclave of bars and restaurants. But close around 3 I think.

Only the ones in the designated tourist areas.
Carrefour is open all day so is AlCampo in Zenia Boulevard.

I've just checked the website and they are indeed CLOSED on a Sunday.
It seems very hit and miss, perhaps it because of Christmas and New year they've been open. Next time I go in I will check with them. They used to have a big sign up saying open Sundays but can't say I've noticed..
