Yes but you have to get them from a pharmacy. However, try a local equivalent as they will be cheaper. For example, Strepsils are €6.49 a pack but a Spanish one (can't remember the name but also begins with an S) only €3.25. Ingredients are virtually identical to Strepsils. Most pharmacies (especially in Quesada) will tell you the Spanish equivalent after looking up the UK BNF which they hold. (Haven't actually seen Night Nurse but definitely Lemsip. Much better to squeeze a lemon into boiling water with brown sugar and crush a paracetamol into it. Brandy is optional but nice).

Yes I agree, the Spanish equivalents are generally cheaper and Lemsip is over-rated, in my opinion. - The option above sounds just as good although a couple of paracetamols of 500mg each would make up the equivalent adult and over 12 years old Lemsip dose. The only diifference is that Lemsip contains the nasal decongestant Phenylephrine hydrochloride, although the steam of the hot drink can help that too.

The good thing is, for the next four hours after taking the 'home-made' cold remedy, you can continue to have the hot lemon plus honey or brown sugar ...and after that if the brandy is added too, you probably won't care much that you have a cold at all.

Immune System Booster

Tastes Good and if you crumble paracetamol in it's better than any Lemsip! for the decongestant a bowl of hot water with a few drops of Olbas Oil towel over your head and breathe deeply WOW that will clear the tubes!

Wine & cloves recipe
1 cup of dry redwine
½-2 tbsp of honey (organic unpasteurized is the strongest)
1-3tsp of cloves
Put all in one pot. Simmer, but do not boil for 10-15 min

Because you simmer the wine the alcohol evaporates (shame really)

Enjoy

Sounds like a lovely mulled wine if not simmered! Might need a bit of Cinnamon though.

Having the good lady suffering a cold at the moment (next time she mentions "man flu" I'll probably swing) trying to ease the cough, the bunged up nose and so on. Mixed a cup with simply honey and lemon juice which is acting as an effective cough medicine. Hot lemon with brown sugar, crushed paracetamol (how come basic paracetamol costs 67 cents in the Dona Pepa pharmacy but when I bought a pack in the Avda Los Naciones one they charged me over 5 euros?) honey and brown sugar first thing this morning. Same thing before bedtime but with the addition of the brandy. A bowl of camphor crystals in boiling water for her to sniff now and again.
Seems to be working.
Won't be long before we all start complaining of how hot it is again.

Hi forgot to mention as well as Echinacea, Oregano Oil is good for the immune system and can be bought locally at the New Valley Garden health shop in Quesada ;)
