Window Tinting Reflective Coating.

Has anyone had their windows coated with the reflective film. We are considering it but wondered is it worth it, does it last,does it work?
Would be interested in anyones experience.

I did my own, calculated enough for certain window areas, bought the size of film I needed, from ebay. I cut out appropriate shapes to cover most of the visible view into the rooms, but not covering the whole window due to making the rooms dark all the time.

Over all appearance looks quite good. It’s easy to do, all you need is an old spray bottle, put a some some water and just a tiny drop of washing up liquid. The rest of the instructions come with the film.

Because we live in a narrow street with identical apartments opposite at the same height, I recommend it, saves having to close curtains for privacy. Remember though, they don’t work at night, if you enter the room and put the light on, if you don’t close curtains then everything is visible from outside.

If I live on a community would I need permission does anyone know?

no, definitely no permission needed, thats like saying you have to ask what colour curtains you are allowed to put up. they're your windows and your privacy is your own concern.
