Does anyone know if something such as the android box in the link below work ok in Spain and show all the Sky channels? I would use it via ethernet.

Android boxes work in Spain but you won't get the Sky channels as they are subscription. You will get the channels available on Freesat or Freeview (via filmon or something else) but Sky is a subscription service so, unless you have a Sky Go subscription, you won't get them. You can get virtually all the same on a PC and plug that into a TV.

An Andriod Box or Amazon Fire Stick preloaded with Kodi will enable you to get all Sky Channels and so much more

Thanks both. Yes the box has Kodi pre-loaded. I will probably bring one out with us next time we go over, our community dish has all the UK freeview channels but we want Sky Sports too.

I use an android box here in Spain pre loaded with the Kodi software which gets me all sorts of movies and stuff. But for LIVE sports (inc sky and BT) and live TVs channels the box also needs Modbro software loaded

My Kodi Dream Box gets everything, Sky sports, Eurosport,ESPN, SETARNA,BT SPORT, ETC.... AND All Movies as well as box sets etc. Of course the normal BBC, ITV, 5, etc, etc.......
Kodi boxs are not as simple as Sky or Freesat boxes, the EPG (programmer group info) is very sketchy and the précis of the programme about to be shown is in some cases basic, in some cases. one has to go through a menu process to get where you want to be. If you want channels from Italy, Spain, USA, Anywhere, they are there.

Thanks all. :text-thankyouyellow:

We have a KodiMobdro firestick we use in the UK so we know how complicated it can be to use. The main problem with it is the constant buffering especially watching sports so I am hoping an Android box will be buffer-free particularly given the lower internet speeds in Spain.

Hi.

I think I asked something similar about this, and from recollection, Paul the TV person on the forum agreed that the buffering issues with the Kodi boxes or sticks is down to the number of people trying to access the "free" feeds. I use a box in the UK and have 50Mbps fibre broadband, but STILL get buffering problems all the time.

I think the solution is using the proper hosted servers.
