This should be fun - There's a Charanga at 10pm on Saturday the 8th August 2015 in Quesada town.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia it says :
Charanga is, in several areas of Spain, a name given to represent a small musical band, with wind and percussion instruments, which typically plays during popular festivals. The musicians are often amateur and usually travel around as different towns celebrate their festivals.

For the most part, charangas play popular, traditional songs, which have simple rhythms and often feature risqué lyrics. Also, they often play medleys. The most typical type of event in which they play is the pasacalles, a performance which moves along the streets of a town, while the public follow the band and dance to its tunes.

In the past the name charanga was also applied to certain military musical bands.

On no..?Charanga just means a glorified piss up...no cultural aspect at all. Maybe the Moors and Christians never came up the valley from Rojales in days past.

We have just added a copy of English language version of the Quesada Fiesta programme on the first post on this topic (Thanks 'John the artist' for giving us the user friendly version of the programme) Just a few queries though:

Does anyone know what & where the 'Grand park' that's mentioned is? : Grand Park for Children with water bouncy castles.

Also it says for SATURDAY, 15th AUGUST At 7 p.m. in the weekly market grounds, recreation of an ancient Roman camp. Any ideas where the weekly market grounds are in Quesada as there isn't a weekly market in Quesada???

Thanks for any help.

The August 15th event will be at the Rojales market site, not Quesada.
10 volunteers will be recreating the marching route that was done in 209AD from Amposta (on the River Ebro where the Romans landed) to Cartagena, and one of the stopping points weas Rojales.

How odd that the programme title is Quesada fiesta and that event is not shown as being in Rojales unless I'm missing something....... but thanks for the explaination.
