Virgen del Rosario, Rojales - Festivities October 2014

The celebrations for the Virgen del Rosario is ongoing from now in Rojales - See the list of events below. A programme of events can also be obtained from Rojales town hall and Quesada municiple centre.

The big parade(s) will be on the TUESDAY, 7th OCTOBER which is the“VIRGEN DEL ROSARIO’S DAY” (see below for times). Also there is a crazy car race that looks like fun on the SUNDAY, 19th OCTOBER, starting at 12.30pm (see poster and details at the bottom of this topic) :

THURSDAY, 2nd OCTOBER
At 7:30 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint in the
neighbourhood “Lo Torre”, calle San Isidro.

FRIDAY, 3rd OCTOBER
At 7:30 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint in the “Malecón de la Diputación”, next to the Open Air Health Park.

SATURDAY, 4th OCTOBER
At 5:00 p.m. 12th 10 & 5.6 Km Race “Villa de Rojales” organised by the Sports Department of Rojales Town Council. Starting from the “Malecón del Soto”. Children at 5:00 p.m. and Adults at 7:00 p.m.
At 9:00 p.m. On the Church Square in Rojales, “La Lira” music band in concert.

SUNDAY, 5th OCTOBER
At 6:00 a.m. “Rosario de la Aurora” (saying the rosary at sunrise), with the participation of “Grupo de Auroros Hermandad del Rosario” from Formentera del Segura.
At 9:00 p.m. Holy Mass in the Parish Church “San Pedro Apóstol” of Rojales.
At 10:30 p.m. Holy Mass in the Church “San José” of Ciudad Quesada.
At 12:00 noon. Holy Mass in the Parish Church “San Pedro Apóstol” of Rojales.
At 7:00 p.m. Offering of flowers to our Patron Saint, the Holy “Virgen del Rosario”. Departure from Rojales Health Centre. We will be accompanied by the “dulzaina” (small clarinet) and drum, and music bands, with the participation of our Queens of Fiestas and all the Local Associations which
wish to take part.
At the end of the offering, the Choir and Dance Ensemble “Museo de la Huerta” from Alcantarilla
(Murcia) will perform.

MONDAY, 6th OCTOBER
At 7:30 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of our Patron Saint in the Malecón del Soto. At the end of the Mass, in the Church, the choir “Voces amigas” of Rojales will sing a serenade in honour of the Virgin.

TUESDAY, 7th OCTOBER
“VIRGEN DEL ROSARIO’S DAY”
Giants and big heads parading round the streets all day. They will be accompanied by the “dulzaina” and drum.
At 9:00 a.m. Holy Mass in the Parish Church “San Pedro Apóstol” of Rojales.
At 10:00 a.m. Music band parading round the streets.
At 10.30 a.m. In the Malecón del Soto, workshops, games and bouncy castles for children.
At 7:00 p.m. Holy Mass in honour of the “Virgen del Rosario”, sung by the choir “Voces Amigas” of Rojales, with the attendance of Authorities and the Queens of Fiestas.


At 8:00 p.m. Solemn procession in honour of our Patron Saint the “Virgen del Rosario”, accompanied by the “dulzaina” and drum and music band.
At the end of the procession, a magnificent firework display will be given by Pirotecnia Ferrández
from Redován.

WEDNESDAY, 8th OCTOBER
At 7:30 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, showing of the film: TURBO. Film suitable for all ages. Admission free.

THURSDAY, 9th OCTOBER
“VALENCIAN COMMUNITY’S DAY”
At 10:30 a.m. Music band parading round the streets, that will pick up the contestants of the ribbon race.
At 10:30 a.m. In the Malecón del Soto, workshops, games and bouncy castles for children.
At 11:00 a.m. Ribbon Race in the Malecon del Soto. Information and registration in the Information Office of
Rojales Town Hall.
At 8:00 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, “Ars Musicandum” saxophone quartet in concert. Admission free.
FRIDAY, 10th OCTOBER
At 9:30 p.m. Fancy Dress Parade. Everybody is welcome to take
part. Register at the Information Office of Rojales
Town Hall!
During the parade, the 1st INSTAGRAM Contest

SATURDAY, 11th OCTOBER
At 8:00 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, the “RyD” Drama Company from Alicante presents “Al Oeste del
Farwest”, a play aimed at a family audience. Admission free.
SATURDAY, 18th OCTOBER
At 5:00 p.m. Youth Day in the Malecón del Soto with many activities such as: workshops (criminology, DJ, Jugger, cappoeira, drug dependence and more).
At 9.00 p.m. In the Capitol Theatre, the drama group “Gracias por su visita” presents the musical “LA ÚLTIMA NOCHE” by Rosi Hernández, based upon the comedy play “Tres sombreros de copa”
by Miguel Miura. Admission €3.

SUNDAY, 19th OCTOBER
At 12:30 p.m. 1st Crazy Cars Race “Villa de Rojales”. Information and registration in the Information Office of Rojales Town Hall
