The BBC announced this morning that he passed way after battling cancer age 77 .

Sorry to hear this. He will be missed - One of the great presenters and a pleasure to watch. Always seemed like a nice guy!

Another great entertainer leaves us. What a sad piece of news mainly as there is no-one left to replace him.
