Barking Dogs !!
Barking Dogs !!
by **Georgia* » Wed Dec 06, 2017 12:06 pm
Some weeks ago there was a discussion about barking dogs and how much it was annoying many people in the "doctors" road area, where a dog was seemingly chained up all day and night in a garage. When the police attended the scene they said that there was nothing they could do as the dog was adequately fed and watered to an acceptable standard.
Perhaps you would like to know what happened about 18 months ago which we experienced. We had two barking dogs annoying the surrounding houses from 7.am to midnight and sometime beyond. We visited the Quesada councillor (at the old Town Hall) and asked for guidance on the matter. He suggested we take out a denuncia against the address concerned, (this is free of charge), and if a second resident did the same, then some action would have to be taken. This means turning up with your Passport and visiting him again, then the paperwork can be raised and passed to Rojales Town Hall to be looked into. If the visiting inspector finds that the problem does exist, the dog owner is sent a letter stating that if the problems continue (presumably on a second visit by him) then a fine will ensue. All this happened in our case and although the owners were Spanish, then we had silence at last !! Although the dogs are still there, they are silenced very quickly by the owner when they bark now.
