The car washes recycle the water used by law , you splashing around in the road it gets lost . There is already a water shortage in this area and it said to be getting worse with controls to be introduced in the near future if we don't get some more rain soon ..!!

Don't be so tight , use the commercial bay [ twice a long than the car bays ..!!] at the tyre shop in Rojales , if I,m swift I can wash a long w/base high top van for 2 euro ...!!

Why would that be a problem?
It's more to do with the waste of water and the detergent or shampoo getting into the drains.
A full jet wash at a garage will cost about 2 euro and an auto car wash with shampoo is 4 or 5 euro. At least all that water is recycled and the detergent doesn't get into the drainage system.
Unlike UK where you have a hosepipe ban if it doesn't rain for three days, I don't recall a hosepipe ban here since the late nineties when we didn't have much rain for 4 years.
Even then people were still watering their gardens.

What a waste of valueable water, pouring it down a drain, what se wrong with a mop and bucket, rather than hosing gallones of water down the drain? Water Is a valué able comodityit should be used sparingly.
