Yes common sense tells us it is just a simple mistake and probably means 600 per month.

So much depends on whether or not you're including rent or mortgage payments in that figure, and whether you plan on buying and running a car.
Many things are cheaper in Spain, provided you choose the Spanish product. If you want to buy PG Tips, Mr Kipling cakes and Cadbury cream eggs then you'll be paying through the nose.
Cars are much more expensive to buy, but slightly cheaper to run. Domestic appliances and TVs tend to be more expensive in a Spain, but you don't buy those things very often.
Also, if your income is a pension that's paid in GB Pounds them you're susceptible to interest rate changes, so you need to build-in a buffer to allow for that. If you don't have an income in the UK then good luck - jobs are very difficult to find in Spain and well-paying jobs will tend to go to those who are fluent in multiple languages.
If you're seriously thinking about moving to Spain then sit down and work out your annual expenditure on everything in the UK then visit Spain and compare like for like. Include everything such as mobile phone and Internet costs, average spend on accommodation, utilities, transport, clothes, eating-out, luxury items etc., as well as day to day items such as food and drink.
