El Dorado restaurant

I highly recommend El Dorado restaurant which is classed as Benijofar (cv940)
Directions from the Arches in Quesada head toward the motorway/Alicante roundabout and there is a road which runs parallel with the motorway just before the motorway onslaught towards Alicante. Drive down this road about 2-300yds and there is a small commercial area and El Dorado restaurant faces the motorway. Not many of the units are occupied there used to be a shop on the corner and Cam bank were there but all have since left.
This restaurant is owned by Sven and Mona. Sven is the chef and Mona the waitress, they are married and are from Germany. They live in benijofar and have been in this location 3yrs (we were at their opening night). Previously they were on the south side of torrevieja on the beach and the restaurant was called ollies tref. We also ate when they were at this location for about 2yrs.
Anyway, sorry their food is fantastic they do a menu del dia and noche although I don't recall the price as we more often eat from the menu but I am sure it's under €10 for 3 courses.
Starters consist of homemade soups, rosti (which is my favourite dish to eat ever) prawns in garlic etc, the main meals are meats with veg and all types of potatoes, croquette roast, chipped etc. I love the sole with prawns. Hubby has eaten all mains and would recommend the mixed grill.
The beers include German bittburger and one we are going to taste next is called black beer.
It seemed a bit strange to us previously but they shut for the whole of August.
Additionally, but I think obvious although I haven't seen any recommendation, is the yellow rose of Texas, in benijofar opposite lets eat.. Portions huge and very reasonably priced. Would love to see someone as stupid as me to attempt to eat the full rack of ribs. Always need to book, very rare even off season you can walk in and get a table.
