My husband loves his real ale. I don't suppose there's a bar that sells it in the area? It c be a deal breaker!

Not in this area. A chap over in Almeria region started his own brewery up a few years ago but it's a long way to go for a pint. The John Smiths they sell around here is a bit bubbly for me. If I fancy an "old fashioned" pint I normally go into one of the places that has Guinness on draught. Quite a few of the supermarkets now sell bottled real ale, though. Consum, AlCampo and Carrefour generally have some in.

There is a bar but can't remember the name I will ask but you can get a great selection of bottles of real ale from the Cheese Shop in Benijofar for only 2.40 euros a bottle and the cheese is great too, also the eggs

Hi. I wouldn't be surprised if the country club had the odd pint of bitter or ale. They certainely cater for the British in most ways. Cant say I've ever noticed cos I stick to my cider or a cold lager. Good luck...

Thanks for the replies. Paul can make do with bottled real ale if push comes to shove but if we buy a house with an underbuild I might take pity on him and brew some myself. He's definitely worth it. My mum used to brew some decades ago and Paul liked it even more than real ale - though my mum would have taken issue with that as it was very real ale, if a trifle potent! Personally I'm thrilled to hear about the cheese and I'll very happily 'make do' with Spanish wine! We're SO excited. I do hope we find the right home for us on our 1st house-hunting trip in the Quesada area!

Have fun with your real ale and house hunt. Quesada is a great area. We love it, that's why we bought a place a few years ago. Holidays to start then hopefully to live as soon as possible. We cumin over in a few weeks. Cant wait. Good luck....

I have heard of a pub over La Zenia, I don't know the name. Just before you turn off for the boulevard at the pet shop roundabout, if you look to the left there is a pub with a large pint glass on the roof. I have been told that they sell real ale.

Thanks again for all the comments. Yes, we're the same. It'll be a holiday home for the next 18 months, then we'll cut down the amount of work we undertake so we can spend a couple of months there at a time and eventually we'll retire completely and be in Spain permanently! Yippee! We can't wait and at least we know we're on the 'going out' pile!
