Getting dog to Spain

Getting dog to Spain

Postby amcevoy2009 » Fri Jun 24, 2016 5:37 pm

So, I want to bring my maltipoo do the villa we have bought. Latest prices for flights seem to be £800. Any suggestions of other ways from those who have done it before?

Can't fault Transpet. Cats and Dogs are catered for with a stay either end at kennels/cattery to suit your departure/arrival date.

Door to door service. Sharon and her husband will comply with all your pets feeding requirements and they are more than happy to administer medication if your pet needs it.

We used them for our cat when we came out, and would use again should we need to in future.

I think it is a lot less stressful for the animal and their transportation vehicle is kitted out so that one person can be with the animals should the need arise. Very good service.

Have to agree with Lindylou. We used Transpet to take a dog from Alicante to UK and the service was excellant. They left Alicante on the Wednesday morning and the dog was home by Thursday afternoon. The van is so well adapted, large cages for dogs and smaller good sized ones for cats The van is never left unattended. They are a very nice couple, and they don't transport goods. Hence the the short travelling time. We were inpressed, and would definately use them again without hesitation.

Your Parrot will need a Health Certificate issued by DEFRA in UK to enter Spain

You need to book a pet-friendly cabin on the ferry. We booked well in advance as there are only a,limited number of cabins. The pet poo area is on the top deck of the ferry. Do not know if a cat requires a pet-passport as a dog does. Hopefully this helps.

There are various companies in the UK that will transport pets to Spain and vice versa. Personal recommendations are a good source of advice but whoever you choose please make sure that the company is registered with DEFRA for transporting animals. On no account do NOT rely on furniture & goods removal companies.
