New Ryanair Baggage Policy
New Ryanair Baggage Policy
by Shiva » Thu Sep 07, 2017 2:18 pm
At the risk of setting everyone off ( As the topic of Ryanair does seem to provoke some strong reactions !!!), am drawing everyone's attention to their new Baggage Policy, effective from 1 November this year...
As of 1 November you will only be allowed the small bag in the cabin - trolley cases will all be put in the hold UNLESS you have purchased priority boarding or a premium fare ( eg Flexi). They won't charge though, will just automatically tag it at the gate and take it off you...
See this useful Irish Times article explaining it....

I am really not surprised about this. I have watched many liberty takers boarding with trolley bags and back packs that dwarf the trolley bag. This has led to delays and was obviously not going to be allowed to continue for too long.
Now, not because of Ryanair but because of those who think the rules do not apply to them, many people will suffer, in having to wait at the carousel for their baggage.
Why can´t people show a bit of self discipline?
I´ve watched all sorts of nonsense, people boarding the plane and putting their bags in overheads at the front of the aircraft, even though they are sitting many rows back. Couples occupying the window and aisle seats to try and deter people from sitting in their row (prior to seat allocation) etc.
Don´t blame Ryanair, blame the "do as you likeys".

I agree Brandyboy. We fly Vueling but it's the same problem on all airlines imo. There is always a scramble to get on the aircraft first otherwise by the time others have stowed their large trolley cases, ultra-large handbags, backpacks, winter coats, hats and jumpers, there isnt any room left for my standard cabin case

As regular fliers with Ryanair We have to say
this is not their fault. We have seen this coming for
A while. Passengers have been pushing the 2 bag
Rule to the limit. We've lost count of the times we
have seen cases that are clearly outwith the
permitted size, backed up with a second bag/case
Almost as big as the first one. Ryanair have improved
their customer service greatly over the last couple
of years. Their flights are on time, their prices can
be incredibly low. We flew back to Scotland last year
for 15 euros. This new policy is the passengers fault
not the airline. We are disappointed with the decision
but we only have ourselves to blame. 2 frustrated Quesada
House owners.

Serves the idiots right , only problem now is going to huge lines to check luggage in and long waits at the other end at baggage reclaim, now if they can sort the seating disaster out, might be back to pleasant flights again ...!! Wot they going to do with all that empty locker space ..??
Glad I travel light , nothing both ways,

Talking of Ryanair...did anyone else notice that they released their next batch of flights this morning, seemingly without telling the public (or Skyscanner)?!!!
Just bagged myself my April, May, June, July and August flights!!!
