I buy the majority of my Waitrose products from Iceland but agree that M & S foodhall would make my life in Spain much nicer. Would stop me from having to import every trip. Having said that there’s no real reason why it can’t be done, they are all franchises so anyone with a few spare bob could invest. I am sure in the right location and with the right clientele it could be a success

Of course, you could always live in UK where I am led to understand they have M&S overpriced food halls and Waitrose stores.
Quesada is already turning into an enclave of Northern Europe, it would be nice for a few more Spanish outlets to open up.
A really good Spanish bakery and cake shop for example.

WAITROSE. ..The rich persons supermarket!!!
Waitrose is definitely not a place to go for a weekly shop in the UK IMO.

Hmm! That’s the same type of argument used in the UK for immigrants there. Many people complain about shops carrying ‘foreign’ produce.
Tesco customers in New Malden complain that there’s too much Korean produce. Similarly shoppers in East Anglia criticise shops for carrying Polish produce. Go back 50 or so years and it was Asian and Carribean food stockists that we’re at the receiving end of wagging tongues.
Many shops are now run by immigrants and stock, exclusively, products from their home countries.
Why then, is it wrong for us to wish for the comforts of home, sold by a UK retailer, in Spain without glib comment?

Why bother coming to Spain if you miss all things English??Easy answer is to return to the UK where there are plenty of your English food halls !!
