IBERDROLA and MEDITERRANEO SEGUROS DIVERSOS COMPANIA S

IBERDROLA and MEDITERRANEO SEGUROS DIVERSOS COMPANIA S

Postby KimmiRocks » Mon Jul 18, 2016 6:44 pm

Hi all. I'm just checking that my standing orders are all up and running and I was surprised to see that Iberdrola take over 30 Euros each month although I'm only here for a max of 3 weeks per year. Does anyone know how much their basic monthly standing charge is?

Also a standing order has been paid every year to 'MEDITERRANEO SEGUROS DIVERSOS COMPANY S' and I haven't got a clue who they are. I will of course go to the bank tomorrow but I'm impatient so if anyone knows what I might be paying them for I'd be grateful if you'd shed some light.

Many thanks.

Just googled this:

Mediterráneo Seguros Diversos, Compañía de Seguros y Reaseguros, S.A. provides general, non-life, property, and fire insurance products. The company was incorporated in 2006 and is based in Alicante, Spain. Mediterráneo Seguros Diversos, Compañía de Seguros y Reaseguros, S.A. operates as a subsidiary of Banco de Sabadell, S.A.

Hope it helps.

Yes, all explained on other posts which you can see under similar posts below.
However, there are two parts to Iberdrola, the part that gives the power supply and the part that gives the actual electricity. The first part will depend on what power you are contracted for which is normally 5.75 Kw. It will cost about 12 cents per Kw per day. so 5.75 x .12 = 69 cents per day. Multiply that by 30 days and it is €20.70. Then you have the meter rental of a couple of euros, VAT at 21% and voila! Around 27 or 28 euro each month. Of course, some months have 31 days and, if you look at your billing period, it can be anything from 25 to 35 days depending on when the meter was checked.
Of course, if you actually plug something in you will be charged for the electricity as well which includes its own set of taxes.
For those of us living here full time it is fine as we get an average throughout the year including both parts. For holiday homes the paying of the something like 30 euro a month for nothing seems bad value.
Your water will be the same as standing charges per quarter will be about 50 euro whereas full usage with all the water only puts it up to about 60 euro. Rubbish collection is included in your quarterly water bill.

Does anybody know if, as I have heard, there is an emergency insurance included with the IBERDROLA contract?

Gerry.

Hello! Sorry for the delay but I've been unable to sign in on my phone and this is the first time I've managed to get onto my laptop.

I read your reply the other day and I cancelled my visit to the bank as I realised that it was my building insurance. Thanks so much for finding that out for me.
