I know. Just trying to clarify the point. Barclaycard is not a UK bank account, it is a credit card. Same as was posted in the other thread about it.

This is a reply I've just received back from Lloyds:-

Hi Chris. At present, only personal customers resident in The Netherlands or Slovakia have received notice of their accounts being closed as this is due to the impact of certain EU jurisdictions in these countries. If this extends to other countries in Europe, we’ll write to any customers affected. ^Michael

Easiest and most reliable answer for you, is just log into your account, and send that bank a secure message asking the question u want answering. Simple. Hope that helps resolve your query.

I did that last Monday with HSBC Daz just got an acknowledgement saying they’d passed it to the relevant department- still waiting!

I am resident in Spain and have a UK Barclays account which shows my Spanish address. I have just checked my online banking messages for anything from them regarding the closure of the account. There is nothing to this effect. So I am assuming everything OK up to now.

I'm with tsb and checked online. Seems they are not including Spain when closing accounts. I read that their connected to Sabadell so maybe that's why.

TSB is owned by Sabadell

Just an update. I am with Barclays (as I said in the earlier post) and still have had no firm instruction from them. I have asked on their messaging service for some definitive answers but just receive general information. I have asked why, if this is a licensing issue as I believe it is, they cannot use the license of Barclays Espana? Seems a logical question to me, but one that is falling on deaf ears. Anyone got any further Barclays news at all (bank accounts, not credit card).
