Ximo Puig appears live to announce the new rules for the Valencia Region.

All curfews have stopped. None of the 68 townships in the Region will have a curfew as from midnight tonight. Meetings of a maximum of ten people in these towns is also eliminated.

The limitation on tables inside bars and restaurants is increased to 8 people with still a maximum of 10 on the terraces.

Bars and restaurants are still limited to 0030 with no service after midnight.

Nightlife, discos etc are able to open until 0300 but still no dancing allowed. No bar service and capacity a maximum of 50%. No service after 0230.

Entertainment shows etc up to a maximum of 1,500 people indoors and 3,000 outdoors.

Sporting events, football and basketball, are increased to 60% of capacity with a maximum of 20,000 spectators in open sports arenas. If indoors still 60% but limited to 4,000.

No change on facemasks which are mandatory inside establishments and crowded areas such as markets and shopping malls.

Social distancing of 1.5m is to be maintained but no smoking anywhere unless a 2m distance can be maintained.

No facemasks on the beach or in open parks provided a distance of 1.5m is maintained between groups.

All other regulations, such as facemasks in cars if not from the same household, are still in force.

The above will in force from midnight tonight until 27th September when they will be reviewed.
The DOGV will be published later and, if any other changes not mentioned in the briefing come up, I'll put them on here.

Was there any mention how he is justifying the continuation of restrictions? These people are acting like dictators and are denying peoples right to basic human freedoms. They need to stand down.

Because the cases in the Valencia Region are still high except Orihuela which is extreme risk.
The restrictions that have been in place, curfews etc, have cut the number of cases from over 400 per 100,000 to under 150 per 100,000 so they justify this as proving the restrictions work.

What basic human freedoms are you being denied, if I may ask? Wearing a facemask to protect others? Only have 8 at a table? Having to leave the pub at half past midnight or a nightclub at 0300? You are not being restricted from going anywhere and, unlike proposals in other countries, don't have to show a covid passport to get in anywhere.

Lots of people seem to know their "rights" nowadays but seem to forget their responsibilities.

Having the right to keep a business open and serve in accordance with the issued licence. Or having the right to not have to wear a mask in my own car should someone from another household be in it. Being able to go to a dance club and actually be allowed to dance. They are just a few examples. I do agree that there are some things we can do which others cannot, but with regards to covid passports, how long before it comes here? I suggest it's just a matter of time.

It seems to be working and we all have to be responsible. If you don't want to wear a mask in your car just travel with your household.

In parts of Galicia people have to show covid passports to enter bars, restaurants etc if that’s not control I don’t know what is. Only a matter of time before it’s implemented here.

Not really. No one had to complete a medical procedure in order to be allowed to enter, as is the case with these passports. A medical procedure, which by the way, will be ongoing forever, as is evident from various places, Israel in particular.
