Moors and Christians fiesta

Please can anyone tell me when the moors and Christians fiesta is in Rojales

Well it's based round San Pedro's day - Thursday June 29th.
So it should be gun battle on 29th, charanga 30th, and parades July 1st & 2nd, but San Pedro's day is usually the big firework display, so don't know whether they'll combine the 2 events on the Thursday or not.
Suspecting the programme will actually come out on Monday.

Where is the festival held please, also thank you for the info.

The battle takes place in the Rojales town centre - the crossroads in front of the museum (which will be dressed up to look like a castle).
The battle has been dumbed down to a dance-off recently, but they still like to shoot their guns & canons - so ear-plugs are essential!
Then all the parades are from the Rojales health centre, past the police station and over the old bridge & through the town centre.
Of course, there'll be many other events leading up to the actual 4 days of Moors & Christians battle and parades, but here are a couple of photos from a previous year.

Looks like good fun Martin,on another subject,with your contacts at the town hall could you ask them to renew the flags on the pueblo lucero roundabout near Ronald's restaurant , ,they are very tatty & hanging in shreds,not a very good advert for Rojales,please do your best as everyone is commenting about them.

Well, I don't have contacts & I am unsure if they are actually owned by them anyway.
I live just above them and in the last 10 years think they have only been changed twice.

I emailed the hotel to ask if they were their responsibility ,they said they were down to Rojales town hall

The book should be available from Monday - possibly tomorrow even.
It has been presented today and the Moors & Christians festival will be from 28th June to 2nd July.
BUT they have decided that the gun powder battle will take place on the Malecón del Soto on Wednesday 28th June as opposed to the Plaza de Esapaña as in the past, to provide more space and less chance of damage to buildings, etc.
Then Thursday 29th is the San Pedro's day with procession and firework display.
The parades will then be as usual - Friday = charranga; Saturday = M & C parade; Sunday = M & C parade.
