Pound at 8 month low against the Euro

Try checking the date of the post !! Not trying to make it worse as you suggest, 1.11 was the rate at the time.

Don't know who you are using but the euro has not been 1.11 on the date of the post. perhaps the guardian quote independant providers. Not getting into an argument.

Not exactly sure what you mean who am I using. If you read my post I quoted the Guardian article. I just googled "when was the £ v € 1.11" and apart from the Guardian report, I found other reliable sources which confirm the article. Its all history anyway but have a look at google. Much more accurate than the Mail or Express.

I'm certainly not trying to make matters worse - things can only get better.

Why would someone comment on and return to a subject that`s nearly a year old.

That must have took some trawling back. :D

Don't know what the fuss is about. In 2008 sterling dropped to just under £1 to the euro. People will still buy whatever the rate.....and I haven't noticed too much of an increase in my weekly shopping. I'm still a lot better off than when I lived in the U.K.. No wonder the Aussies call the Brits whinging poms.

This is another case of incorrect information you should read the report you got this information from that would have told you that the figures were after commission had been deducted by exchange companies

Surely low pound against euros, dollars etc is what Britain wantsand needs, goods exported are cheaper therefore more attractive and greater demand.

All well and good if Britain were a net exporter. Unfortunately it's not so it means goods imported are more expensive.
Balance of trade deficit in the last quarter to Jan 18 was £8.7 billion which is £3.4 billion more than the previous quarter.
£36.75 billion for the year.
